Violence against women in the home is pervasive. Globally, domestic violence accounts for nearly one quarter of all recorded crimes. In Nigeria, Surveys indicates that 10–58 percent of women have experienced one form of mental, emotional, physical abuse by an intimate partner.
The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has through her National Publicity Secretary, Eliana Matins forwarded emergency contact hotlines for states with which members and the public could easily access the organization, to report cases of abuse and all forms of domestic violence.
