Only 30 guests will be allowed at the televised funeral which will take place in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

It will get under way at 3pm when Philip’s coffin arrives on a specially modified Land Rover he helped to design. Buckingham Palace say.

Among the mourners who have flown in for the funeral are Prince Harry who arrived in the UK from the US on Sunday and three of Prince Philip’s relatives from Germany.

The Queen’s first cousins the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra plus Countess Mountbatten of Burma, one of Prince Philip’s closest confidantes, will join mourners at his funeral.

She is the wife of Earl Mountbatten, Norton Knatchbull – the grandson of Philip’s beloved uncle the 1st Earl Mountbatten, who was murdered by the IRA in 1979.

The Queen has given final approval to the funeral plans, codenamed Forth Bridge, and eight days of national mourning, which will end on Saturday and all Covid-19 guidelines would be observed.
