One of the most disputed and controversial presidential elections in the NBA history between Paul Usoro SAN, is Founder and Senior Partner of Paul Usoro & Co , Prof. Ernest Ernest Ojukwu SAN also known as ”The teacher’ and Chief Arthur Obi Okafor, a core litigation lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), which may likely not be resolved by a Compromise in the interest of peace but a protest in the interest of Justice this time.
Members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) would today stormed the environs of the Annual General Conference to protest the alleged fraud, disenfranchisement, hacking of email addresses of the of members of the NBA and repeated complaint which were unattended to by the Electoral Committee.
They are by this complaint, appealing to NEC, AGM to probe into the just concluded NBA election which resulted Paul Usoro’s victory. It is their belief that some candidates received more votes than Paul Usoro, but on technicalities the votes of the other two presidential candidates were disqualified, hacked, and so much of invalid responses each time they tried to vote online giving Paul Usoro a slight majority in the official result.
This they say is unacceptable and a slap in the justice system of the nation. They are by this peaceful demonstration urging the public, lawyers and well meaning Nigerians to pressurize the NBA to carry out the auditing of the votes cast at it’s just concluded election, as it did not meet the basic electioneering and democratic standards.
