A couple with their baby on Flight travelling from POrtharcourt to Lagos yesterday died on-board. The airlines’ crew, according to information, found the deceased mother struggling to save her unresponsive child before landing.
The development, however, caused other passengers to be delayed onboard for about one hour and unable to disembark after arriving at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The delay, it was learnt, was because they could land at MM1 or MM2 as there were no available or standby ambulance in any of the two airports.
The pilot had to land at the International Airport which had an ambulance to enable medical officials evacuate the deceased and his parent.
DV111.com learnt that passengers in the plane were unaware of what was going on until the flight attendant had inquired if there were any medical practitioner on board. Luckily there was one who confirmed the baby the had died.
So sad, we are so on our own in this country. NO Ambulance at the two airport terminals. SO SO sad.
