The call was made during the event to mark the international women’s day celebration, with the Team ” Accelerate Action 2025,” at Trix win Hotel, Ogwashi- Uku, Delta State,on 14th day of March,2025..
The event was the first time ever, organized by Mrs.Ifeoma Elizabeth Ochei, the Facilitator NBAWF Ogwashi-Uku Branch, in collaboration with the Human Rights committee, on the Topic “voices of Female lawyers – Truth and Dignity: Amplifying the fight against Human Rights Abuses”,. A legal luminary, Chief Magistrate Patricia Nsolo (rtd), was the Guest speaker. The Speaker in her lecture dealt with the topic in six subheadings as follows:
    1. Understanding the Landscape of Human Rights Abuses
    2. The power of our voices as lawyers
    3. A legacy of dignity
    4. Building alliance and solidarity
    5. The role of education and advocacy
    6. A call to action.

In an interview with Divaviva, Mrs Ochei raised some points to note which are as follows:

🌻As female lawyers, we occupy a unique and powerful position in this landscape. 🌻Our experiences, perspectives and aspirations equip us to confront these injustices. 🌻We are advocates for the voices of those who have been marginalized and oppressed ensuring they got justice. 🌻As women, in the legal profession, we must speak up and reject notion of silence at every turn. 🌻Our voices must rise against injustice, for they carry the power to affect CHANGE -She says.
